Context Lens
Context Lens was a secondary committee under NUS Muslim Society’s Publicity Secretariat, with the aim of harnessing the potential of podcasts for discourse on contemporary issues that undergraduates are concerned about, through the lens of Islam.
The primary aim of Context Lens was to deconstruct the perception of a dichotomous relationship between Islam and contemporary issues by discussing these issues through an Islamic lens, thereby contextualising them. It is our belief that no concern falls outside the purview of Islam, stemming from the belief that Islam is a perfect and complete way of life.

As part of NUSMS’s efforts of streamlining adhocs and secondary committees, the 60th Shura Council decided to discontinue Context Lens (CL) as of AY24/25. Moving forward, the ExCo’s initiatives will take into account the objectives of CL and continue curating content that will be beneficial for all. May Allah s.w.t. bless the CL team for their hard work.
Guide2Goodness
Guide2Goodness (G2G) was an adhoc under NUSMS, with the goal of providing a comfortable and accessible platform on campus for the Muslim community in NUS to gain knowledge of Islam and the self. We invited asatizahs and esteemed speakers on campus to conduct knowledge-sharing sessions that are light-hearted yet full of wisdom and beautiful advice.
Surrounding the theme of "Many Hearts, One Love" for AY22/23, the sessions were planned with the intention to allow our hearts to rest, and teach our hearts to love Allah s.w.t.
As part of NUSMS’s efforts of streamlining adhocs and secondary committees, the 59th Executive Committee and the Guide2Goodness committee has made the decision to discontinue Guide2Goodness as of AY23/24. Moving forward, the ad-hoc PBUH will aim to meet the objectives of both PBUH and Guide2Goodness. May Allah s.w.t. make PBUH beneficial for all, and bless the Guide2Goodness team for their hard work.
